The Lancashire Evening Post is ramping up the campaign to keep the National Football Museum in Preston. It comes after Lancashire County Council, Preston Council and the University of Central Lancashire announced a potential multi-million pound rescue package for the museum, which would refurbish it and keep it at PNE's Deepdale ground.

Two victims were attacked in separate attacks. The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Thursday as a 23-year-old man got off a bus from Preston city centre at Sumpter Croft, Penwortham. One of the victims, a 17-year-old, was so badly attacked he was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital and was initially described as being in a "very serious" condition. He is now stable and recovering.
